Captain’s innings led the way
Saturday 11th June 2011, 2:56PM BST.
A CAPTAIN’S innings from Stuart Le Prevost set BDO on their way to a convincing 51-run victory over Wave this morning.
The island skipper (pictured) struck a majestic 74 as his side racked up 163 for eight in their 20 overs, which finished in rain which caused a delay to the start of the Wave innings.
Once play resumed, the side batting second were set a victory target of 138 off 16 overs by the Duckworth/Lewis method, but that was always going to be a struggle once they lost both their openers for ducks, including their captain GH Smit.
In the end they were dismissed for just 86.
- Last night’s match between Cenkos Centurions and Mourant Ozanne was postponed due to rain.
