Mourant Ozannes dominate Wave
Saturday 11th June 2011, 8:14PM BST.
A DOMINANT performance from Mourant Ozannes thisevening ensured that three of the four sides enter the final weekend of the round-robin stage with just one defeat each to their name.
Wave Warriors, who have yet to taste victory after four matches, were blown away by nine wickets with three overs to spare by Lee Savident’s men, who conceded a miserly five boundaries in the field to restrict their opposition to 123 before knocking off the runs in impressive manner, with Justin Meades smashing 79.
‘It was a solid performance,’ said Savident (pictured).
‘The fielding and the bowling were very good and Meadesy was sent in up the top of the order to take advantage of the powerplay overs and he played a terrific knock that will help our net run-rate, which could be crucial at the end of the group stage.’
