Tim for England
Monday 13th June 2011, 2:29PM BST.
TIM RAVENSCROFT may get the chance to pull on an England shirt after being called up as a 12th man for this week’s third Test against Sri Lanka at the Rose Bowl.
The Sarnian (pictured), who is 19, has been in fine form for Hampshire’s second XI this season, scoring quick runs aplenty as an opener in their Twenty20 campaign.
It is customary for the 12th men to come from the ground’s home county, with Ravenscroft therefore likely to field at some point of the match, which starts on Thursday.
England currently lead the series 1-0 going into this final Test, with this being the first Test match ever played at the Rose Bowl.
