‘How to manage a conflict of interest is important’

Health minister Hunter Adam.A LACK of transparency in the States members’ register of financial interests will be investigated.

It follows concerns expressed about Health and Social Services minister Hunter Adam’s interest in a company that benefits from taxpayer’s money.

Deputy Adam (pictured) and his wife have a 5.4% shareholding in the property company, called Vignon, that leases the MSG its premises. While the name has been declared in the register it does not say what the company does.

Deputy Matt Fallaize said it was difficult in a small community to eliminate all conflicts of interests, but how they were managed when they arose, was important.

    It was my understanding Hunter Adam had declared his interest – what is the problem?

    If I were a betting man I would bet his interest is minimal compared to others, certainly historically.

    I can remember going to the Greffe and asking for information on states members interests….. VERY interesting, but don’t know if that’s still the way to find out?

    I would like to know whom amongst our ‘reps’ has decided to look at this apparent “lack of transparency”. Not Dep Matt I think, smacks more like Dep Brehaut to me.
