‘There was smashed glass everywhere, chairs broken’

THOUSANDS of pounds-worth of damage was caused to the Bridge Kitchen when it was vandalised in the early hours of Saturday morning.

The front windows of the Southside cafe were smashed and chairs and other furniture were broken in the 1.30am attack.

Owner Jan Dewar said she was woken at 2am by a phone call from the police and then went to the cafe to inspect the damage.

‘There was smashed glass everywhere and chairs broken. It took me till 5am to clear it up to be ready to open at 7am.’

    Despite the draconian clamp down on cigarettes this sort of thing still happens!

    You know if they are caught the Judges will say

    “Oh you are naughty, It wasn’t your property, now don’t do it again”

    In reality it should be a very harsh sentence, they should be made to do hard labour, and money earned should go to those people whose property they destroyed.

    They should only be released when all the damage has been paid for, plus a percentage of the total to public funds.

    No more of this cuddling and saying (If they are young) “But they are very young”
    No sentimental thoughts here. Criminal acts should receive criminal Sentences
