Arson spree – five teens arrested

FIVE teenagers have been arrested in connection with the recent spate of arson attacks.
Police detained the suspects, all males aged 17 or 18, yesterday morning.
They were interviewed and released on police bail. During the course of the arrests and subsequent searches, items were taken by police from the suspects’ homes for further examination.
Nine incidents of arson occurred on the bank holiday weekend of Saturday 28 May.
This included several cars, a timber fire and a hedge being set alight.
Inquiries into these crimes continue and police are still appealing to anyone who has any information or who can assist to contact them.
