Infrastructure spending ‘makes Russia look value’

Plamen MonovskiA FUTURE World Cup and Winter Olympics is adding to the opportunity for investors to benefit from increased infrastructure spending in Russia, according to leading European fund manager Plamen Monovski.

The Renaissance Asset Management chief investment officer was in the island this week speaking to the local branch of the Chartered Institute of Securities and Investments, as well as existing investors and potential clients of RAM, which has its sales and distribution operation based in Guernsey at Paragon House, Ann’s Place.

RAM specialises in investing in Russia, Africa and emerging Europe and has offices across Europe, including a presence in Moscow where it employs 40 staff, 12 of whom are asset managers.

Mr Monovski (pictured) said it was hard to ignore the value to be had in Russia currently.
