A GUERNSEY team combining youth and experience will look for glory on the golf greens of the Isle of Wight next week.

This year’s eight-strong Sarnian team includes a trio of teenage debutants, ably supported by five players with Games experience.

Dave Rowlinson selected the men’s quartet, who include 15-year-old James Hamon, and is confident that they are capable of medal success.

‘It is a very strong men’s team we are sending because they are the four strongest players we have,’ he said.

‘Bobby [Eggo] and Danny [Blondel] are our two best players at the moment, Jamie [Blondel] is experienced and it is also an opportunity for someone like James to shine.’
