RONEZ opened its gates to islanders on Saturday for its first open day since 2006.
Visitors were able to view the machinery used by the company, and take a bus tour around the quarry.
Bouncy castles and a sandpit were also available for children.
Director and general manager Peter de Garis said the open day was a good opportunity for the public to see and understand what Ronez did and how it contributed to the island’s economy.

I would like to congratulate Mr de Garis and all his staff at Ronez and also thank them too for the very enjoyable day they sponsored at their Quarry on Saturday. Their hospitality was a credit to the Island , all the folk that were there thoroughly enjoyed themselves and also learnt a thing or two about diggiing for stones!
The children were greatly impressed with the machinery and the help given by all the staff was greatly appreciated by parents and grandparents alike! A lovely family outing that was appreciated by all who attended.
Well done to one and all!
