AROUND 80 Guernsey ex-servicemen and women were honoured at a ceremony at the White Rock yesterday and presented with veterans’ badges.
In total, 126 Guernsey veterans will receive the badge and many of those unable to attend the event will be presented with them in their homes this week.
Before the presentation, serving local officer Lt-Colonel Colin Vaudin raised the Armed Forces Day flag and addressed the former military personnel, paying tribute to their families.
‘The family support we get is crucial and perhaps the most crucial support we get when we are deployed in operations.’
