JOCK TANGUY is proving something of a lucky mascot for the Guernsey Golf Union he chairs.
He has now presided over two successive Channel Islands matchplay whitewashes and an away team win for the Sarnian men.
‘They were brilliant, absolutely brilliant,’ said Tanguy, after watching Bobby Eggo, Aimee Ponte, James Hamon and Kimberley Goodall all triumph at La Moye in the 2011 CI matchplay finals.
‘It’s been a great day for Guernsey golf,’ he said.
For Eggo, the old master, the 7 and 5 win over six-times Jersey champion Trevor Gray took him to an unprecedented seventh CI title in 10 attempts.
