GUERNSEY should set up its own specialist university to differentiate itself from other offshore centres, according to Lord Digby Jones.
The former UK Minister of State for Trade and director-general of the Confederation of British Industry made the suggestion while in the island speaking to an audience of around 90 at an exclusive HSBC event.
Lord Jones has a relationship with Guernsey dating back more than 20 years, when he used to come to the island while working as a lawyer.
He is now a regular visitor and said he wanted to see Guernsey prosper and be successful.
