Renewable energy exports on cards

Deputy Prime Minister Nick Clegg (pictured) has insisted that exploiting renewable energy opportunities together was a huge part of rebalancing the economy.

Wave and tidal energy has to be the way ahead, particularly for the Channel Islands. I’m all in favour of encouraging exploitation of this huge natural resource but the States needs proper controls right from the outset regarding licensing and care for the environment. Lets ensure the island gets sufficient financial benefit from this without ruining the scenery.
