A STONEMASON and an architectural technology apprentice have jointly won the apprentice of the year award.

Richard Moore and Antoinette Martin were presented with the award on Thursday.

It is the first time that two apprentices have shared the award.

College of Further Education principal Trevor Wakefield said that the judges could not decide between Mr Moore and Miss Martin.

‘We have about 400 apprentices and every year an employer or tutor can nominate an apprentice for the award,’ he said.
