A MAJOR fundraising effort for the Oakley Waterman Caravan Foundation will see focus switch for a while from motorcycles to bicycles this year.

The regular Oakley Bike Spin in the island, which was due to take place next month, has been postponed until 11 September due to coastal road closures.

It is being replaced with a bicycle challenge which it is hoped will capture the imagination of sporting and casual cyclists.

The challenge on Sunday 17 July sees individuals or groups aim to cycle 200 miles over a weekend to replicate a marathon ride completed by Oakley’s father Dave and his former Portsmouth teammates earlier this summer.
