Jobs are under threat at Marine & General

A DECLINE in the need for specialist machine fittings could see up to six jobs go at Marine & General.
Managing director David Norman (pictured) confirmed that the company, based at the Shipyard, St Sampson’s Harbour, was reducing the operations of its machine shop and fittings section.
‘We’re in the process of negotiations with a small number of employees,’ he said.
‘We won’t know how many people will be made redundant until we’ve finished the consultation process.
‘It’s very sad when these things happen but sometimes you have to have a change of direction.’
