A MAN’S body was found in a Town lane early yesterday morning.

The unexplained death of the 48-year-old man saw the area cordoned off for the day as police combed the scene for evidence.

Police have not yet identified the man, said to be a local resident, but confirmed yesterday that a post mortem examination was due to take place.

The death appears to have occurred between 11pm on Saturday and 1am yesterday in Park Lane, St Peter Port – a pedestrian lane just off Trinity Square.

It is understood that a pathologist was flown in from the UK to examine the body.
