Longest day (and night) ends in gold for Guernsey
Tuesday 28th June 2011, 2:29PM BST.

The brother-and-sister pairing of Kevin Le Moigne and Sarah Garbutt celebrate their decisive mixed doubles success against the Faroe Islands in the semi-finals.
MOMENTS before midnight and Guernsey had completed the most incredible of days to secure the badminton team gold medal against all the odds.
Ryde School was well and truly rocking by the time Paul Le Tocq and Sarah Garbutt ended eight years of hurt, with joyous celebratory scenes marking their first triumph since 2003.
That Le Tocq and Garbutt, both veterans of that win in 2003, should be the ones to finish it off was apt, but in truth everyone played their part in an eight-hour marathon that had also included dumping out the top-seeded Faroe Islands in equally thrilling fashion.
It was one of Guernsey badminton’s finest ever days and continued the gold surge at the Games, making that the 14th Sarnian triumph in two glorious days.
