AN OWNER of pigeon lofts should be forced to take them down, neighbour Mary Paver has said.

Pigeon-enthusiast Keith Young’s lofts are in a field by the Epinelle Road, next to a cul-de-sac where Mrs Paver lives – she said she did not like having the pigeons around.

‘I don’t like them flying over my garden. I don’t want pigeon lofts next to me. I don’t want to see pigeon huts.’

Mr Young was fined £300 in February for putting the loft up without permission – it followed the rejection of a retrospective application he made in May 2009.

A further, invalid, application was made in September of that year. He has since submitted another application.

Seems strange to me Mrs Paver, that your neighbour has been able to keep his pigeon loft up an running in view of the ongoing dispute, especially since I believe they can come into the verminous, if not culled category in some places.

I say let him have his pigeons. Sound’s like they’d be better company than a complaining neighbour.

Doesn’t this woman EVER stop complaining or, for that matter, will she EVER find something positive and nice to say about someone? Those who know of her will know exactly what I’m talking about! She should be awarded a wooden spoon for this particular whinge of the week!

I believe Mr Young DID try to get rid of the birds by releasing them into the wild at St Peters but it didn’t work

If he tried to release them in the wild Ray he cant know much about pigeons as they have homing instincts that is why they race them. Couldn’t agree more Saphire.

Let him keep his pigeons ,he does not do any harm and there must be thousands of other birds who have flown over her garden in time .is she going to complain if a plain passes over as well?
Seems to me she is a moaner.if i was him i would put a few pigs and chicks there as well so she would have something to complain about .
He is doing no harm,or perhaps he could use the field to race a noisy bike on .That would certainly give her something to moan about

Mrs Paver is fully entitled to air her grievances however given that Mr Young has made another planning application, these should be directed towards the Environment Department, not the GP.

To be honest…she has a point. Two retrospective applications declined. Fined £300 in 2009 and they’re still there will another application just been made.

He SHOULD be made to take them down. Until at least a plan has been agreed and authorised.
