GUERNSEY remain on target to top the medals table for the third time in five NatWest Island Games.
After day four of competition and thanks to their superb swim team headed by Ian Powell, Tom Hollingsworth and Kristina Neves, the Sarnians ended the day on 25 golds, eight clear of their nearest rivals, the Isle of Man.
The Greens went past their 2009 tally of 21 in Aland with an early burst of gold at the evening session in the Medina Centre pool when Hollingsworth, Neves and Powell won the first three golds in the pool, all in record times.
Later on, the men’s 4x100m medley team were to make it four Sarnian gold record victories for the night.
Other medals successes came at the athletics track with gold for Louise Perrio and silvers for the Garland brothers, Lee and Dale.
