Out-of-control bonfire engulfs vans

A BONFIRE that spread to two vans and a mass of undergrowth saw the Fire and Rescue Service rush to a property in St Sampson’s yesterday afternoon.
Billowing smoke could be seen across the north of the island as neighbours stood in the street wondering what was happening.
The out-of-control bonfire was at the back of a home in Epinelle Road, on land attached to a vinery.
Crew commander Gary Van der Linden said officers received the call at 3.58pm and attended with one appliance.
