AIR pollution in three parts of the island – particularly Fountain Street – is worrying Environmental Health.

Pollutant levels – which have been monitored for some 20 years – do not exceed English standards, but they are on the borderline.

The other hot spots are Bulwer Avenue and the general St Sampson’s area.

Now the director of environmental health and pollution regulation, Val Cameron, said she would be asking the States to introduce strict regulations on air quality.

You see, it will be a ‘bash the motorist’ agenda.
A backdoor excuse for raising taxes for the profligate States to spend.

“Val Cameron, said she would be asking the States to introduce strict regulations on air quality.”
Yes and most countries wanted “strict regulation” of thebanking and financial sector justified (their jobs) to avoid meltdowns. Warehouses full of rules later and every financial regulator failed.
G’nsey also has a Utilities regulator. Again like every other regulator it rubber stamps above inflation price rises while strangling the free market with cost-generating rules
The pattern of more regulation worldwide is only connected to the failure of regulation worldwide. State mangling and interference is out of control with no benefits whatsoever only to the crones in offices and continued Empire building in useless Govt.
The free market always has been and always will be the ultimate arbitor and regulator of what does and doesn’t work. State regulation does not work and has never prevented anything (also see the shambles of Fukushima, Japan)
