ORGANISERS are hoping to collect around £50,000 from this year’s Race for Life.
Nearly 1,500 women yesterday took part in the event for Cancer Research UK and a sea of pink could be seen snaking around the track at Foote’s Lane.
Dressed in numerous different and outrageous outfits the participants ran or walked the five-kilometre circular route towards Saumarez Park and back.
Northern Trust employee Karen Morpeth said she and her team were taking part because everyone knew someone who had been affected by cancer.
