POLICE are trying to find out who took and damaged a fibreglass animal displayed as part of Donkey Parade, a charitable art project.

It was ripped from its plinth outside Trafalgar Court, Admiral Park, and found in nearby First Tower Lane, St Peter Port.

The Crime Prevention Panel has offered a £200 reward for information leading to the conviction of those responsible.

Inspector Trevor Coleman said some might refer to the incident as ‘high jinx’, but it was mean-spirited and, depending on the circumstances, could result in a prosecution for theft or criminal damage.

* If anyone witnessed the incident or has any information about it, please call police headquarters on 725111 – or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.

More night time trouble almost certainly caused by smokers!

Just take a spin along the front after midnight on a weekend and see them staggering home under the influence of cigarettes

The sooner the draconian measures on those evil purveyors of death are brought in the sooner this
    sort of vandalism will cease
