GUERNSEY’S Island Games cyclists are beginning to show their pedigree as the Tour of Guernsey completed its second stage at Pleinmont last night.
On the uphill cross-country course, it was James Roe and Josh Gosselin who took the honours, their respective times of 2min. 45sec. and 2-47 taking them comfortably clear of the rest.
That means they now sit in second and third on the overall leaderboard behind fellow Games rider Andy Colver, who supplemented his stage one victory with a fourth place yesterday.
Coming just over a week after the completion of a stunning Games for Team Guernsey, it is a Tour that is deprived of its biggest names: reigning champion Mike Serafin out injured, while Rob Smart is only racing some stages.
