WITH just three days to go to Guernsey FC’s first pre-season match before they embark on their debut season in the Combined Counties League, the club is appealing for volunteers.
‘We really need the island’s support for us to make this work,’ said secretary Mark Le Tissier.
‘This is a community club and we want the people of Guernsey to get involved and help in any way they can to help us achieve our goals.’
The club needs 30 to 40 people to volunteer throughout the season so that no one has to commit to every game.
Fran Torode, 54, has volunteered and will be selling programmes on Saturday. ‘If lots of people do a little, nobody needs to do a lot,’ she said.

I was going to volunteer till I realised after 19.00 hours it was £4.20 before you stepped into a taxi to the game and the cost from Icart to there was quoted at £16 each way so was too expensive for a £5 game i am afraid. Surely a bus running for the game would help get supporters in?
