THE Priaulx League is back after a decision to change the league’s name back to its traditional roots.

Played for since 1893, the Guernsey Football Association controversially changed the league’s name in 2008 to Senior County League Division One, as part of the old board’s four-year plan.

Despite that name change, the teams were always playing for the Priaulx Cup, and now the local clubs and the newly-formed League Management Committee have decided to revert back to the original.

That is also the case for the second division, which once again will be called the Jackson League, although there will be a reduction in the number of games next season, with each club playing 16 games instead of the previous 24.
