MATT LE TISSIER has issued a rallying cry to the Guernsey public ahead of tonight’s inaugural game for Guernsey FC against League two club AFC Wimbledon.

In the official match programme, which has been distributed to 18,000 islanders in recent days, the former Southampton and England star said GFC is the biggest progress in a century of Guernsey football, while urging the players to show pride.

‘You can stop dreaming now. The waiting is over,’ he says.

‘The most important development in Guernsey sport for 100 years is about to become a reality. Make us proud, lads.’
