THE life of Guernsey FC began in the most extraordinary fashion possible after an 11-goal thriller against AFC Wimbledon at Foote’s Lane on Saturday night.
The Green Lions were on the wrong side of the remarkable 6-5 scoreline, but thrilled a big crowd by matching and even bettering the League Two side’s youngsters for periods.
A brace from Ross Allen and strikes from captain Sam Cochrane, Tom Strawbridge and a stunning free-kick from Ryan-Zico Black were the standout moments for the impressive home crowd of 1,060.
But they left themselves just too much to do, having fallen 3-1 behind at half-time to strikes from Jake Rose, Jerson dos Santos and Zachery Richards.

Voice For Victims
Voice for Victims is a campaign aimed at promoting the rights of those affected by child sexual abuse.
Unfortunately, some of the match officials were subject to such mindless barrage of abuse from Guernsey Supporters and Guernsey team staff it’s beggars belief to see where the match officials will come from for the next friendly game…
Neverless, ‘one hell of a game’ I hear!
