TWO island stars sparkled on a miserable Saturday morning, but it was Danny Bisson who shone brightest.

He came back in a stunning 31 shots at L’Ancresse to pip his playing partner Steve Mahy by a single stroke in the L’Ancresse Club Championship and win his third club title.

That back nine completed a level par round of 70 for Bisson – worth five or six shots better than that given the conditions – while Mahy carded an excellent 71, which he would have grabbed with both hands before he went out.

‘It was a good round of golf from both of us,’ said a drenched Bisson.
