More than 1,000 there to roar on the Green Lions

AN ENTHUSIASTIC crowd of more than 1,000 people were at Foote’s Lane to cheer on Guernsey FC in their first match on Saturday.
The Garenne Stand was sold out, with many others standing around the edge of the pitch to watch Guernsey slip to a thrilling 6-5 friendly defeat against AFC Wimbledon.
Many spectators switched ends at half-time to make sure they were behind the goal Guernsey was attacking.
Club chairman Steve Dewsnip said the response had been fantastic.
