French yachtsman lost – body is found off Les Minquiers

A MAN’S body was yesterday found in the sea, the day after 61-year-old Alain Gouard’s yacht, Mclaw, was seen drifting off Pleinmont.

The body, discovered 10 miles off Les Minquiers, is being brought to Guernsey.

‘It is believed that it may be that of the missing Frenchman,’ a police spokesman said today.

The identity of the missing yachtsman was confirmed yesterday after the search was called off.
