‘Not enough visitors? We may need more accommodation’

TOURIST numbers are on the rise and there could be scope for even more visitor accommodation, the new director of marketing and tourism has said.

‘If you look at occupancy rates between April and October, the key months were reaching 85% occupancy and in August it reached 90%,’ he said.
‘This reflects, in the main, that there is not a surplus of accommodation stock. In fact I believe there is the possibility for growth.’

Voice for Victims is a campaign aimed at promoting the rights of those affected by child sexual abuse.
And the quality? Please don’t tell me that Jason Moriarty believes that Guernsey has good quality accomodation and the modern standards most people expect?! Guernsey needs to think ahead and diversify it’s target market and not just aim for baby boomers. Holiday business owners have got to start investing in their properties.
