PRIVATE equity will continue to play an important role in the post-crisis environment, a business seminar audience has heard.

Ernst & Young partner Mike Bane and executive director Peter Miller delivered that verdict while presenting the findings of the firm’s second European private equity fund administration survey to an audience of around 50 finance professionals.

Ernst & Young conducted its first report into the subject in 2009 and repeated it during the final quarter of 2010 and early 2011 by interviewing 34 private equity fund administrators based in Guernsey, Jersey, Luxembourg and London.

The latest survey identified an increasing need for transparency and for detailed and timely reporting to investors in the industry.
