PEOPLE living in Vauvert have joined calls for action to prevent littering around Burnt Lane.

Dawn Jungerius and Karen Gibbs live next door to each other, opposite Burnt Lane steps and agreed the area had a major problem.

‘It’s fly-tipping. People put down whatever they have,’ Mrs Gibbs said.

‘We have had old microwave ovens and parasols. Notices have gone up telling people to “grass up” the tippers, but it could be anyone.’

I myself am a resident of Burnt Lane and I could not agree more, not long a go I woke up, got dressed and headed out to work, on my way I was lucky enough to come across human feces partly on the wall and partly on the foot path. Obviously I call environment the moment I got to work to ask someone to come and clear this away. They stated that the would remove the deification from the foot path-but not the wall as this was private property.. The week after that I woke up to find blood everywhere outside the house (some boy had an accident) and there was a lot, again I called environment but it was only after the second call (and two days later) that anyone came to clear it up. There is a school here and children playing, not only is it not safe but it is disgusting. Something needs to be done soon.
