A LOCAL student has raised more than £500 for charity after completing a challenge of playing three rounds of golf in a single day.

Jacob Travers, 15, has played the game for a number of years and in the past six months has begun playing in regular tournaments at La Grand Mare.

But the Les Beaucamps pupil had to contend with adverse weather conditions to complete the challenge in around 11 hours,

Travers decided upon the challenge as part of his school’s activities week and has been raising the money for the Teenage Cancer Trust, who are looking to build a unit within Southampton General Hospital, to be used by Channel Islanders.
