GUERNSEY’S European T20 title bid fizzled out tamely under grey skies at FB Fields yesterday, losing twice in 24 hours to finish fourth of the 12 competing teams.

Worst of all, Jersey gave Stuart Le Prevost’s side an eight-wicket stuffing in the third/fourth place play-off to send the Greens home with their tails between their legs.

The Sarnians arrived in the sister isle with realistic hopes of at least making the final and with it clinching a place at the World T20 qualifiers in Dubai.

But in the space of 24 hours they showed unexpected frailties, first with a very poor batting display against the Danes and then a punchless showing with the ball against the Ed Farley-inspired Caesareans.

    State of gsy cricket is atrocious, when are younger players such as myself going to get a look in? I feel left out so have now reverted to umpiring as I feel it will give me a better chance.
