THE chief executive of the Chartered Financial Analyst Society of the UK has been in Guernsey to meet the regulator and update members on the latest investment profession developments.
Will Goodhart said it was important to be meeting with the Guernsey Financial Services Commission ahead of the introduction of the retail distribution review, due to come into effect on 1 January 2013.
The RDR is intended to bring greater transparency to the UK investment market by improving consumer trust and confidence, changing the way commission is paid and highlighting the importance of advisers having qualifications.
‘We want to speak to the GFSC about the use of qualifications in the licensing regime to see what its plans are,’ said Mr Goodhart.
