LOCAL businesses need to protect themselves from hacking, according to an expert in the field.

With the recent hacking of The Sun newspaper website and companies such as Sony and Nintendo, certified ethical hacker Matthew Parker said local businesses needed to be aware that they were not immune.

‘I think there is a perception that we are probably off the radar, but local companies should not be complacent,’ he said. ‘I am aware of local organisations who have been attacked recently.’

Mr Parker works for PwC in Guernsey. He has nearly 20 years’ experience in IT and manages the IT services for PwC’s client base in the Channel Islands.
