Wednesday 27th July 2011, 2:29PM BST.

New PB: Natalie Whitty.
THE Trafford Grand Prix in Manchester brought the best out of young Guernsey middle-distance trio Michael Batiste, Natalie Whitty and Sarah Mercier.
The two 800m runners produced new personal bests at the high-standard British Milers’ Club event, while Mercier was just outside her island 1,500m record with a time of 4min. 36.62sec.
Batiste clipped almost half-a-second off his 800m best set at the Island Games in the Isle of Wight with a time of 1min. 55.14sec. for third place in his heat, while Whitty, the basketballer turned runner, improved her two-lap best to 2-18.50, a seven-tenths improvement.
Coach Geoff King was delighted with their performances.
