‘Bolts’ make Post hard to deliver

GUERNSEY POST’S invincibility in the annual Collins Stewart Inter-Firm Town Relay stretched to a sixth successive win last night.

The ever-popular event was much closer than in previous years, however, as both Butterfield Bolts and the mixed team from KPMG pushed the posties all the way to the line at the top of Smith Street.

Indeed, Butterfield were comfortably ahead after two of the four legs of the mile-long course and were only just trailing going into the final lap, on which Island Games competitor Ben Wilen was running.

But in the end, Post’s team of Pete Guilbert, Clint King, Sam Dowding and James de Garis did enough to continue the unbeaten run, with Butterfield coming in second.
