National award for island accountant

Gavin Niven of KPMG. AN ACCOUNTANT in Guernsey has been recognised as one of the top young dealmakers in Britain.

Gavin Niven, pictured, an advisory manager at KPMG in the Channel Islands, was one of 54 up-and-coming financiers to be named as a winner at the 2011 UK Young Dealmakers of the Year Awards.

The awards were presented by mergermarket, in association with Intralinks, which sponsored the new award to recognise top junior deal team members in the UK.

Mr Niven, 29, joined KPMG in Guernsey from the firm’s Edinburgh offices just over two years ago. He has been heavily involved in developing the firm’s mergers and acquisitions service offering in the islands and has worked on a number of key transactions.
