Robert at the double in two contrasting rounds

Race winner Martin Robert driving Cruel Intentions takes directions from navigator Tim Abbott in the Jethou race.
THERE was double success for Martin Robert in the latest rounds of the Guernsey Powerboat Association championship series.
Driving his boat Cruel Intentions, he and navigator Tim Abbott won both the Jethou and Fermain races at the weekend, which had thrills and spills throughout.
Ten boats started the first race, but two were to suffer damage during it, with one having to be rescued as it was sinking.
However, it was back in the water for the next day’s race, which saw nine boats at the startline.
