Big match clash

Saturday 30th July 2011, 2:30PM BST.

Mark Le TissierGUERNSEY’S Muratti Vase semi-final this season will clash with a home Combined Counties League game for the Green Lions.

The Muratti semi date of Saturday 17 March in Alderney coincides with Guernsey FC’s home match against Bookham. That is scheduled as GFC’s third-last game of the season, meaning promotion, or a league title, could be on the line.

And with Alderney needing due respect it will stretch Sarnian resources to the full, given that at least 30 players would be required for the two games.

However, GFC secretary and former GFA chairman Mark Le Tissier (pictured) does not believe it will be a problem. ‘It is up to Tony [Vance] and Fal [Colin Fallaize] to decide which players play where. I also believe that we have enough players of quality over here to be able to deal with both games.’

Anything can happen on the day a !
I would like to see Alderney play two semis one against each and thus get two chances of a final.
