The 7dayshop.com crew were the first men’s four and fourth overall in the Rocquaine Regatta handicap race last weekend.

THERE was all to row for in Saturday’s race at Rocquaine Regatta as the handicap series draws closer to its conclusion with several crews all in contention to take the title.

The 7,900m course starts in the corner of the bay by the Imperial Hotel. The first lap is past Fort Grey to the north of L’Eree bay and clockwise around Torquetil rock then back across the start line. The second and third laps are a clockwise circuit around the four turn buoys in Rocquaine Bay.

Throughout the course there are hazards such as dinghy races, raft races, numerous fishing boats and crab pot bobbers to avoid as well as other rowing boats in the race.

As always, the handicapper had calculated accurately and many of the 20 crews finished within seconds of each other.
