Killer wins a second chance for parole

Friday 12th August 2011, 2:30PM BST.

New Royal Court buildingA DECISION to refuse a convicted killer parole will have to be reconsidered after he won a court case yesterday.

A judicial review hearing found that the Parole Review Committee did not have all the information it should have been given when members reviewed Alan Baker’s case.

It means that the PRC will have to hold a fresh review with the new evidence.

During the hearing it was found that the PRC did not have a copy of a psychiatric report, written for the court which sentenced Baker last July, or any other medical report.

Deputy Bailiff Richard Collas, presiding, said, ‘If they did not have the medical report, Mr Baker is entitled to feel he has not had a full and fair hearing.’

I don’t think the rest of us a really too bothered about a Medical report. We should be more concerned about the extra cost to the taxpayer and our safety when he finally comes out.But then who knows, the Court may extend his jail term to Twenty years, instead of the pathetic term he was given.

A.J. lets hope so, how he can even think of appealing against his sentence just doesn’t make sense to me. if that was me in there for the same crime, then i would take the sentence as a result. cant do the time ! don’t do the crime .
yep, give him longer,if he has mental health issues then he should have been going to see a shrink ! he will try anything to get out now. obvious to me he cant take his bird !
