Wary of Warlingham

Friday 12th August 2011, 2:30PM BST.

Matt WarrenANOTHER strong test awaits Guernsey FC as they look to end their first competitive week in positive fashion when they host Warlingham tomorrow.

The Green Lions have already beaten Knaphill 5-0 and scrapped out a 2-2 draw at Hartley Wintney within the past seven days of Combined Counties League action, sitting in second place as a result.

But they entertain a Warlingham side who finished fifth in Division One last season, higher than both of GFC’s previous opponents, and who started this season with a 0-0 draw against Frimley Green last weekend.

They are expected to be a physical side, although it is an ultra-attacking squad that GFC coach Tony Vance has chosen to try to beat them with.

Matt Warren (pictured) is the most notable absentee from midweek, while Jacques Isabelle and James Hamon also make way, with reserve goalkeeper Richard Davey, Tom Strawbridge, Scott Bougourd and Craig Young all included.
