Le Cheminant holds off all challengers to win

EIGHT cars came to the line for the toughest challenge of the sand racing season.

They faced 20 laps in one go compared to the normal race length of just eight laps, to win the largest trophy available, that of the Victoria Trophy run as a handicap race.

It was one of the two women racing – Vienna Le Cheminant – who won this most demanding race, Although the other drivers gave it their all to claim this prize.

Hardest charger was Nigel Ozanne who, having the fastest car, had to start at least four laps behind the lead-off car of Faye Downs.
