Psychiatrist ‘had sex with his patient at the Castel’
Tuesday 16th August 2011, 2:30PM BST.
A PSYCHIATRIST had sex with a married woman patient on his consulting room floor at the Castel Hospital while a delegation from the Women’s Institute was outside, the General Medical Council heard yesterday.
Dr Steven Lomax (pictured) plied the mother of two with wine and gave her astrology readings predicting she was ‘on the edge of something new’.
After confessing to his wife he claimed to have destroyed the patient’s medical records in order to cover his tracks, it is alleged.
Dr Lomax admits he had a relationship with Ms A, but denies it began while she was a patient. He further denies saying he had destroyed her medical records.
Dr Lomax, who did not appear at the hearing, could be struck off the GMC’s register if he is found guilty of misconduct.
