Julian WinserGLOBAL economic unrest could continue for up to a decade, the president of the Chamber of Commerce has warned.

Julian Winser said it was unrealistic to expect the recent economic downturn to be over in two or three years, suggesting it was likely to last seven to 10 years.

He predicted more civil unrest, a continuation of the Arab Spring and a move towards rapid political change as people showed dissatisfaction with leaders at a faster rate.

Mr Winser (pictured) said the States must learn to curtail spending as the turbulent world market slowed growth.

Perhaps we should have a “Guernsey Spring” and get rapid political reform too.

Once the “Council of Guernsey” is formed with pbfalla as the chief brother we could set trials for those who’ve been intent on wasting our money over the last 4 years.
